‍Saysimple: The Trengo Alternative!

‍Saysimple: The Trengo Alternative!

Trengo and Saysimple get compared a lot because they both bring WhatsApp, email, and chat together in one inbox. The real difference isn't the channel list, it's how you pay and what happens once your team grows. Trengo charges conversation bundles on top of a user license, starting at €299 a month for 10 users and 6,000 conversations a year. Saysimple charges purely per user: you can start from €119 a month with 3 users, unlimited conversations, and one WhatsApp Business number included. Want to see how that works for your team? Trengo vs. Saysimple

Trengo and Saysimple are both omnichannel customer contact tools that bring every channel together in one inbox: WhatsApp, Instagram DM, Facebook Messenger, live chat, email, and business telephony, from a single platform.

What that looks like in practice shows up at BMN Building Materials, a building materials chain with 85 branches spread across the Netherlands. Their service process was breaking down across separate channels per branch, while customers increasingly asked for WhatsApp directly. After moving to one centralized Saysimple inbox, reachable through a single number with smart routing to a customer's preferred branch, and adding web chat as an extra channel, response times dropped 72% (full case). That's the kind of difference a feature list doesn't show: it's not about which platform has the longer list, it's about what happens once a whole team actually works from one screen.

In our experience, teams switch from Trengo to Saysimple mostly once support scales past a handful of agents and per-conversation pricing starts working against them instead of scaling with them. At that tipping point, the feature list stops mattering as much as which platform grows without friction.

What actually changes day to day

Beyond price, there are a few differences you mostly notice once you're in the middle of it. Questions coming in by phone, email, or WhatsApp reach an agent within 24 hours instead of sitting in a queue. Our Customer Success team stays involved past the initial setup, not just at the start. And because the platform connects to your CRM, ERP, or planning system, you automate processes through the API without spinning up a separate integration project. The platform also meets strict security standards and is GDPR compliant, which we cover in more detail below.

Privacy and security

Because you're working with customer data, you want conversations stored professionally and securely. With Saysimple, you control access to your customer data using methods such as IP whitelisting, single sign-on (SSO), and two-factor authentication (2FA).

We work with several cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services, all of which are ISO-certified. Our data centers are physically separated and can operate autonomously. Every connection to and from the Saysimple platform is encrypted, and all data — including customer information, conversation details, and files sent — is stored encrypted as well.

Trengo pricing vs. Saysimple pricing

Trengo's pricing model is split into three packages, billed monthly based on the number of users and an expected number of conversations per year (starting from €299 per month, including 10 users and 6,000 conversations per year). Expect more than 6,000 conversations a year? You can optionally buy extra conversations in bundles of 100 for €15 per bundle (€0.15 per conversation).

* This excludes the template fees you pay to Meta as a business for sending WhatsApp templates to start proactive conversations.

Saysimple pricing

With Saysimple, you can get started from just 3 users for €119 per month, including one WhatsApp Business number. While Trengo also charges per conversation bundle, Saysimple charges purely based on the number of users — simple and predictable.

You can also expand Saysimple for a fixed additional fee with extra users, a longer conversation retention period, and add-on modules such as call deflection and WhatsApp broadcasts.

Connecting Saysimple to your existing systems

A two-way integration between Saysimple and your CRM or ERP means conversations get logged in your system automatically, instead of someone typing them in afterward. Contact details sync back to Saysimple in the other direction, so an agent sees the right customer data mid-conversation through a CRM or ERP plug-in. You can also use signals from those external systems to trigger personalized WhatsApp messages automatically, without anyone having to click send.

Connect with existing systems via Zapier

Saysimple offers integration options through Zapier, letting you easily connect the platform to hundreds of other tools, such as your CRM, email marketing software, or ticketing system. That way you automate processes, save time, and keep your customer data always up to date.

What you notice day to day on the platform

All incoming and outgoing communication lands in one central inbox that multiple colleagues can work from at the same time. New conversations get routed automatically to the right agent, department, or location, and you can set up teams by department or location so everyone only sees what's relevant to them.

For daily work, there are labels to categorize conversations and contact tags to segment customers, predefined quick replies to respond faster, and automated welcome and away messages based on your business hours. Internal notes let colleagues read along without the customer seeing them, and the built-in web chat is for communication between platform users, one-on-one or in a group.

Where this leaves you

Trengo and Saysimple solve the same basic problem: too many separate channels, not enough overview. The difference shows up once your team grows past a handful of people, when what matters stops being the feature list and starts being whether the bill scales with you and whether the platform is actually connected to the systems you already use.
